In 2004, I was contacted by Brian Anthony of Anthony Restorations, who in conjunction with the Leo Gorcey Foundation, wanted me to help them restore and re-publish Leo Gorcey's notorious autobiography. Originally, self-published in the mid-Sixties, copies were selling for many hundreds of dollars and it was felt that Leo's fans deserved to have the chance at buying a copy that didn't require a bank loan. It was my job to replicate the book as exactingly as possible, with the addition of chapter-by-chapter commentary by Leo's daughter, Brandy, and a forward by Leo Gorcey, Jr. The original pages were scanned and the dust jacket was re-created and restored from an original, nearly pristine copy. This was one of my favorite projects and remains a labor of love.
